EPYSA Indoor State Cup Tournament
|On January 10th, the Harleysville United 95/96 Girls will be playing in the A Level of the EPYSA Indoor State Cup Tournament at the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome in Wilkes-Barre, PA. In Group Play, the girls are matched up against the West Chester Predators (PAGS Premier Arsenal Division), Penn Legacy Black (PAGS Premier Manchester United Division) and the North Union United Lady Cannons (CPYSL Premier Division).
ODP Player Selections
|We are pleased to announce that 6 of our players have it made it through the first round of ODP selections. 5 players have been selected to the 1996 ODP Indoor Training Pool and 1 other has been selected to the 1997 ODP Indoor Invitational Pool. Congratulations girls!
Frederick Cup Semi-Finalists
|On October 10th and 11th, the Harleysville United 95/96 Girls were semi-finalists in the Frederick Cup Premier Tournament held in New Castle, DE at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex. In group play, the girls lost 0-2 to the Highland YSC Shooting Starz, tied the New Jersey Soccer Academy 04 by a score of 1-1, and defeated the Council Rock Rockets by a score of 2-0.
Rob Schaefer Memorial Classic Champions
|On August 8th and 9th, the Harleysville 95/96 Girls played in the Rob Schaefer Memorial Classic in Harleysville, PA. This tournament is the main fundraiser for the Harleysville Soccer Club and the girls played up 1 year at the U15 age level. In the first game, the girls defeated the WestMont Lazers by a score of 4-0. In the second game, the girls defeated the PA Rush Swoosh also by a score of 4-0. In the third game, the girls tied the Souderton Cyclones 1-1. Finally in the fourth game, the girls tied the Harleysville Hurricanes 1-1. In the end, the girls won the tournament and now get ready for the Spirit United Kick-Off Classic.
Hershey Invitational Champions
|On June 20th and 21st, the Harleysville United F.C. 95/96 Girls played in the Hershey Invitational in Hershey, PA. In Game 1, the girls defeated the Montgomery Force by a score of 1-0. In Game 2, the girls tied the ASA Baxter Blue Flames 0-0 to win their bracket. In the semi-final round, the girls defeated the Watchung Hills Freedom by a score of 5-1. In the championship game, the girls defeated the Montgomery Force a second time by a score of 1-0.
Columbia Invitational Finalists
|The Harleysville United F.C. 95/96 played in the Columbia Invitational in Olney, MD on May 23rd-25th. In Game 1, the girls tied the very aggressive Beach FC Piranhas by a score of 0-0. In Game 2, once again the girls played to a 0-0 tie against the Smithtown Kickers Revolution. Needing a 2-goal differential to advance to the championship game the girls defeated the Thunder FC Strikers by a score of 2-0. In the championship game the girls fought a tough match against the Chantilly YA Comets White but came up short by losing the game 0-1. This weekend the girls played fanstastic soccer and the defense only gave up 1 goal all weekend.
YMS EPIC Tournament Quarter Finalists
|On May 9th and 10th, the Harleysville United F.C. 95/96 Girls played in the YMS EPIC Tournament in Fairless Hills, PA. During pool play, Harleysville came from behind to defeat a very physical Hibernia AA Fusion team by a score of 2-1. In the second game, Harleysville dominated the Lehigh Valley Magic in a 2-0 win. In the quarter-finals the girls were matched up against rival PAGS premier team - HMMS Eagles. Despite controlling the play for most of the game, the girls lost the game 1-2. This weekend Harleysville played outstanding soccer and continued their much improved play in 2009.
